 Everyone knows that Frassati Houses are full of life, but Frassati House Halifax is setting the tone as far as 'lively' goes. Television crews are even starting to pick up on the action... click 'read more' for the full story.

Well known in Halifax for their pipe chomping, Church loving, evangelizing swagger, the Frassati boys on the east coast are becoming more and more recognized by the Catholic community at large.

“This weekend, we have a member of the Salt and Light television crew staying our house, collecting material for a project that they'll be doing,” explained Jeff Lavery, widely regarded as the best looking guy named Jeff on the east coast.

This will not be the first time Lavery and his good looks have graced a Salt and Light production. He was also prominently featured in Saints: Gospel Artists. However, Lavery is not just a pretty face, and takes his faith seriously as a member of the Frassati House in Halifax. Along with his other confreres, Lavery has been a key member of the house, helping organize some sweet events for the Archdiocese of Halifax.

“Last week, Fri. Oct 27th, we held our second Frassati Men’s night of the semester,” he said. “Our speaker, Larry Worthen, spoke about the beatitude ‘Blessed are the pure in Heart’. About 20 men came out to join us in prayer, learning and fellowship.”

“Also, last week, Sat. Oct 28th, we had Mass at our house. We will be beginning a weekly event, where we have Mass at our house Saturday mornings, having different priests from the diocese celebrate mass for us. We'll have music at each Mass, offering a chance for young and old to experience contemporary Christian music.”

The Frassati Houses in both Vancouver and Ottawa are looking to follow Halifax’s shining example by initiating their own events. Be sure to regularly check the Frassati Ottawa, Vancouver, and Halifax links for awesome stuff going on in your area.

Lavery said that he’s hoping to have another skookum speaker for the end of the month, but hasn’t been able to find anyone yet.

“The last Friday of every month is our Frassati Men’s night,” he said. “The speaker for this month’s night has not been asked yet.”
